LOVE WITH EYES WIDE OPEN
The old saying "Love is blind" is true. When we're in love, we see our beloved's strengths, not his weaknesses. and even we acknowledge the weak points, we usually excuse them. This blind infatuation feels good, but even better is true love with our eyes wide open-love that sees all and yet chooses to love.
Unconditional love is one of the quiet qualities f love that doesn't get a lot of media attention. Extreme love, puppy love, unrequited love, forbidden love, love at first-sight they all get their heyday in the pop culture of song lyrics, movie themes, and book plots. But when was the last time you heard someone talk about love that sees the good, the bad and the ugly and yet keeps on loving?
Love is rigorous work. It calls us to love in spite of circumstances and to put others before self. It's grown-up love-true love.
